Coach Bolt DIN 603
The coach bolt (or carriage bolt / cup sqaure hex as it sometimes called) is a domed headed fastener with a square shank under the head. It is one of the first fasteners ever created on a large industrial scale. The coach bolt can be hit with a hammer during installation, whereby the square shank under the head grips the material that the coach bolt is being fixed too - most often than not wood, which prevents the bolt from rotating. A nut can then be tightened from one end only. Coach bolts are typically mild steel grade 4.6 but are also available in stainless steel grade 304 A2. Fix8 can supply them in high tensile 8.8 or stainless steel 316 A4.
